About CleanLog AU

What CleanLog is

CleanLog is an online tool that lets you create an end-of-lease condition report using your phone. You take photos of each room, describe what you see in English or Chinese, and then lock the report before returning the keys. The agent receives a link to view it without needing to install anything or create an account.

Developed and operated in Sydney, CleanLog is used throughout Australia. There's no physical office to visit or phone lines to wait on. You can reach the developers directly at support@cleanlog.com.au.

Why the site tells you this

A condition report is only valuable if the other party takes it seriously. Therefore, this page explains how the locking feature works, the fees involved, the sources behind the guides, and what the product does not provide.

How the lock works, and what it does not prove

While you're still working on the report, nothing is final. You can retake photos, edit notes, or restart a room's entry.

When you lock the report, the server verifies that every part has saved correctly before recording the lock time itself. Your phone cannot set or send this time. If anyone tries to alter the report afterward, the server rejects the change and returns an error stating the report is locked. The lock time is what the agent sees on the shared link and in the PDF.

Each photo you upload is re-examined on our end before the report locks. Any file that isn't a genuine image is deleted, preventing the report from locking. Camera and location metadata are removed twice, once in your browser and once on the server, so the report you share with an agent does not include your camera roll's data.

Here's something we prefer to explain upfront rather than have you discover later: the capture time on each photo comes from the device that took it, not from our server. A phone's clock can be inaccurate or manually changed. What our server can confirm is the exact moment the report was locked, which is why that timestamp is shown to the agent. Locking the report before the agent's inspection holds more weight than locking it afterward. We want to clarify this boundary so you don't overly rely on photo timestamps in disputes.

What it costs

Taking photos of the property and viewing the report on screen is free for everyone and requires no account.

Tenants pay a one-time fee of $9.90 for a report, which unlocks the PDF and the link to share with the agent. Cleaners get their first report free, then purchase credits, 5 reports for $12 or 10 for $20. There are no subscriptions or automatic renewals.

How the guides are checked

The website offers 20 guides, 11 in English and 9 in Chinese, which are the main reason most visitors come here.

Every factual statement in the guides is verified against its original source before publication, and the guide links to that source so you can review it yourself. These sources include the NSW Government, Consumer Affairs Victoria, the Residential Tenancies Authority in Queensland, the RTBA in Victoria, NCAT, QCAT, the Tenants' Union of NSW, and the ATO.

If a figure or rule cannot be confirmed, it is excluded. Some claims have been removed from the guides for this reason, including a tribunal evidence ranking that no authority publishes and several deadlines that were not actually in the referenced legislation. A guide that acknowledges gaps is more helpful than one that fills them with guesses.

What CleanLog does not do

This is not legal advice, and nothing on the site should be taken as such. Guides explain what the rules say and where to find them but do not advise on what actions to take regarding your tenancy.

CleanLog does not submit your bond claim, contact the bond authority on your behalf, or represent you at a tribunal. You handle those steps yourself, using the report as your evidence.

It does not determine whether a deduction is fair. It simply records the property's condition and the time the report was locked, which decision-makers then review.

CleanLog is not a cleaning service. It does not employ cleaners, manage bookings, or vet anyone.
